How Municipal Court Warrants Work
A municipal court in Nacogdoches County hears city ordinance violations, traffic matters, and other fine-only cases within its city limits. It can issue process in a case, and the Sheriff or a city officer may serve that paper. A municipal warrant is still a court record, though. The issuing court, not a county jail roster, controls its status, payment terms, appearance rules, and any recall. Two municipal courts in Nacogdoches County publish clear contact routes: Nacogdoches Municipal Court and Garrison Municipal Court. A town's size or its website says little about whether a court exists. When a citation names a city court, follow the contact route that court prints.
Municipal Courts Across Nacogdoches County
The statewide Texas municipal-court directory confirms Nacogdoches and Garrison. Appleby, Cushing, and Chireno post no current court or warrant portals online. That silence limits the public record. It does not prove a local court or police office is absent in Nacogdoches County, so ask the city directly.
| City | Public court route found | Warrant search evidence | Phone |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nacogdoches | Municipal Court at 217 W Hospital; payment and alternate plan links. | Online citation search, not a full active-warrant roster. | 936-559-2641 |
| Garrison | Municipal Court at 330 South B Ave; Pay Citation link. | No warrant-search fields visible on inspected page. | 936-347-2201 |
| Appleby | City government contact page only in the sources reviewed. | No public court or warrant portal located. | Not located |
| Cushing / Chireno | Regional City Hall contact pages provide phone routes. | No current municipal warrant portal located. | See city profiles |
Nacogdoches County Municipal Warrant Checks
A Nacogdoches citation can be checked through the Municipal Court portal several ways: citation number and date of birth, driver-license number and date of birth, Social Security number and date of birth, vehicle information, name and date of birth, or a business name. It is a citation tool only. No countywide warrant list appears there, and not every warrant is searchable online. If a result is unclear, call 936-559-2641 or write mcourt@nactx.us. The city warns that payment requires a citation number and that a phone call does not count as an appearance. For Garrison, phone the court first and use the city's Pay Citation link as a payment route unless a public search form is posted. A Nacogdoches County warrant check at the city level starts with those clerks, not with a generic portal.
Nacogdoches County Garrison Court Warrant Route
Garrison Municipal Court sits at 330 South B Ave, Garrison, TX 75946. The official court page names the judge, city attorney, and clerk, posts a Pay Citation link, and lists 936-347-2201. A separate city page gives 936-347-2301 as a weekend emergency number. That line is not published as court hours or a Nacogdoches County warrant-clearing contact. The official Garrison municipal-court page shows contacts and payment routes, not a warrant search. View Garrison Municipal Court information.

For a Garrison matter, ask the court whether the Pay Citation route fits the case and what steps remain.
Municipal Warrants: What They Show
A municipal case file may hold a citation number, the offense, an appearance date, a plea, judgment, payment records, a capias or warrant entry, and court notes. The public citation portal often returns less than the clerk's full record. Confirm any charge or amount with the Nacogdoches County court before acting on it.
| Issuing city court | Identifies the clerk who can confirm local status. |
|---|---|
| Citation or cause number | Helps locate the exact file; use it in official communications. |
| Appearance date | The date on the citation controls unless the judge changes it. |
| Capias pro fine | A post-judgment process for an unpaid fine, distinct from the initial citation. |
| Payment or recall | Ask if the court has entered the action and reported any clearance. |
“Active” can mean different things in different systems. Request the court’s exact status label.
Nacogdoches County Warrant Search Gaps
Appleby's official city-government page lists an address at 14760 US Hwy 59 but links no police, municipal-court, or warrant portal. DETCOG lists Cushing City Hall at 936-326-4665 and Chireno City Hall at 936-362-2311. Those regional contacts can help you find a current local office. They do not give case status, payment instructions, or court hours. A thin city website is no reason to send every small-town question to the Sheriff. Read the citation instead. If it names a Nacogdoches JP, contact that JP; if it names a city court, ask the city to identify the current clerk; if it involves custody or county law-enforcement records, then use NCSO. That routing keeps a Nacogdoches County warrant search pointed at the office that actually holds the answer.
Nacogdoches County Municipal Warrant Records
City court records do not always feed a county Sheriff list. A warrant missing from the NCSO Most Wanted page or custody roster may still sit with the municipal court. The Sheriff's roster reports custody and booking fields, and the Most Wanted page is curated with a stale-data warning. Neither replaces a complete city docket in Nacogdoches County. The official Texas municipal-court directory can verify a listed city court. If your record names Nacogdoches or Garrison Municipal Court, call that office. County-wide court and Sheriff routes are summarized on the Nacogdoches County overview.
A Warrant Officer in Nacogdoches County
An older official city report described a Nacogdoches Municipal Court Warrant Officer who served Class C warrants and helped with prisoner processing, arraignments, bond, and documentation. That account gives historical context on how city enforcement and court operations once linked. It does not show that the staffing or duties are unchanged today. The current Municipal Court site is the live contact source in Nacogdoches County. Ask the clerk which office handles your warrant, whether the judge expects an appearance, and what payment-plan or compliance routes apply. Whoever serves the paper, the court keeps authority over the case.
Nacogdoches County 2024 Warrant Safe Harbor
Nacogdoches County drivers with old city tickets got a break in 2024. Nacogdoches Municipal Court ran a warrant-forgiveness window from February 15 through April 15. People were urged to come forward voluntarily. The court offered fee relief, payment plans, a discount for anyone paying in full, and an action plan for those who truly could not pay. That campaign is over. No 2026 program exists. Call 936-559-2641 or email mcourt@nactx.us to ask what relief the court offers now. Treat the old notice as history, not a promise of arrest protection, and note that a separate Chapter 45A procedure may apply to an FTA warrant depending on current law and case facts.
Clearing a Municipal Court Warrant
In Nacogdoches County, call before you pay anything. Ask the court exactly what its file shows: a citation, an FTA warrant, a capias, or a capias pro fine. Then ask whether the date demands a personal appearance, whether an alternate payment plan exists, and whether proof-based dismissal could apply. A judge may need to sign off. Some payments count as a plea or conviction event, so know what your money is doing before it leaves your hand.
Confirm before visiting. Court staff can explain procedure but do not give legal advice. If the matter could affect a plea, consult a Texas attorney before choosing a resolution.
The Nacogdoches County Sheriff Office takes records requests at records@nac-sheriff.com. For a city court judgment, status questions go to the issuing clerk. Never approach a person because a public listing names them.
